It’s been about two years, right?
It feels like we’ve been busy all at once, collectively…
Currently, we are undertaking the construction of kendojo floors throughout Japan and in the U.S.A.
Otsu-city, Shiga, 260㎡.
Adachi-ku, Tokyo 163m2
Chicago, U.S.A. 606m2
We will try to do our best as usual so that there will be no accidents.
We are pleased to announce that we have been commissioned to install a kendojo flooring in the United States of America. This is our first challenge to construct a kendojo in a foreign country. We would like to thank all the kendo teachers, the Forestry Agency, and JETRO for their cooperation to this point.
The kendojo is 606 square meters, or about 183 tsubo. It is large enough to accommodate three regular courts. This size is almost the same as the kendojo at the University of Tsukuba and the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya.
The wood that has been referred to as “kokusan-zai” will be exported to the U.S. as “Japanese lumber”.The lumber to be exported this time is 40 cubic meters of Japanese cedar and Japanese cypress lumber. This is a great opportunity to promote the superiority of “Japanese lumber” overseas.Japanese carpenters are scheduled to come to the U.S. to do the construction.
We will proceed carefully to ensure that there are no injuries or accidents in order to complete the project in April 2023.
